Armed Student Locks Down Clarksburg Schools

A high school student has been arrested for causing a pair of Clarksburg schools to be placed on lockdown, authorities said.

Police received a call from about an individual who pulled out a gun after a road rage incident in the 22400 block of Brick Haven Way around 10:18 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, Montgomery County Police said. 

The gun-wielding student then ran towards Clarksburg High School, which — along with Rocky Hill Middle School and the Goddard School — was placed on lockdown around 10:35 a.m., police said. The suspect was arrested at his home shortly after 11 a.m., police said. 

The school remained on lockdown for investigators to search both the inside and outside of the school, police said. A weapon has yet to be recovered. 

The investigation is ongoing. The juvenile is awaiting charges.
